What is an emergency evacuation?

When all students and staff must leave the school premises immediately. Do not take your belongings just stop what you are doing and exit the school

Available exits

  • 1st  exit: (main exit) – front of school/black gate. Students escorted by their teacher are to head out the main exit. Next, head to the parking area next to the football pitch (MEETING POINT 1).
  • 2nd exit:  – back of school/closest to toilets. Students escorted by their teacher are to head out exit 2. Next, head to the parking lot next to nursery (MEETING POINT 2).

EMERGENCY EVACUATION 

When you hear the emergency evacuation alarm bell the below steps are to be followed:

  1. First teacher to see an emergency situation must ring the bell (or whistle if there is no electricity) ring pause ring pause continuously 
  2. Staff do a quick head count (teacher counts the students in the class they are teaching).
  3. Team leader will notify all teachers as to which exit to use.
  4. In a calm and quick manner staff must then safely lead all the children out the exit to the meeting point
  5. Once the students have walked in single file to the meeting point the class teacher must then do a thorough head count. Team leader to be notified immediately if anyone is missing.
  6. Team leader to take in their possession, the registration folder, which contains all of the children’s contact details and contact emergency services.
  7. Once everyone has met at the assembly point Team leader will check that all staff and children are safe and present
  8. Team leader will notify all parents of their child’s well-being and arrange for their child to be collected.
  9. On arrival of emergency services Team leader will speak with emergency services
