KINS COVID 19 PROTOCOL

DEAR KINS FAMILY,

Please read below carefully in order to understand the procedures for the school. We encourage you to continue taking care of your health as well as your children – by eating healthy, drinking water, daily

exercise and getting lots of rest. With strong immune systems, we can fight all the germs that are around.

IF A TEACHER / STAFF TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID / GENERAL ILLNESS

  • If a teacher shows symptoms such as fever, no taste, and no smell they are to stay home immediately and get tested.
  • If a teacher tests positive for Covid they are then required to stay at home until they can provide a negative test to return to school or 10 days at home.
  • For the remaining teachers, only if they are showing symptoms they are then (as stated above) required to get tested. If a teacher is not showing symptoms, they do not need to be tested and they are allowed to be at school.
  • If any teacher would like to be tested at any time, they will be allowed to do so, at their own expense.
  • Parents are to be notified if a teacher is tested positive. It is then the choice of the parents if they want to send their child to school or not. School fees still apply regardless of the period the student is out of school.
  • No parents and non-KINS personnel are allowed onto the school property, beyond the parking lot and reception office, for any reason unless by appointment.

IF A STUDENT TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID

  •  The child is to be kept at home for 10 days or have a negative test to return to school.
  • • Only teachers will be notified of a Covid positive student.

IF A PARENT OF A STUDENT TESTS POSITIVE

  •  For the safety of our school family, if a parent is tested positive, please inform the head teacher.
  •  We require that the child stay at home if a parent is tested positive. Only once 10 days has
passed or a negative test will the child be allowed back at school.
  • Only teachers & support staff will be notified about a positive parent.

SCHOOL HYGIENE AND HEALTH & SAFETY SYSTEM

  • All toys, counter tops, sports equipment, stationary will be washed once per week. Should we
have a positive case, the above items and areas will be washed immediately that day.
  •  Extra activities will continue as normal.
  •  All enquires that need to be made by parents are to be done via phone or email or appointment.
  • Hands to be washed on arrival as well as temperature checked for all students, teachers and
    staff.
  • If a student or teacher has a temperature over 37.5 degrees, they will not be allowed to enter the
    school.
  • All classrooms have a bottle of spray disinfectant which teachers use to wipe down all desks,
door handles and light switches after each lesson.
  • All children are to have their own stationery.
  • Strict hand washing maintained consistently throughout the day.
